  • FOSSE.  Like much of Normandy we are not on mains drainage and therefore ask that TOILET PAPER ONLY is put down the toilets.  Anything else may result in a nasty situation which doesn’t bear thinking about but which will be expensive to sort out.
  • RUBBISH: Re-cycling is a local hobby and to this end all rubbish is put into CLEAR rubbish bags (supplied).  Any other bags or loose rubbish will not be taken away, neither will any other rubbish and may result in having the rubbish collection suspended.
  • WOOD: There is a good supply of wood in the woodstore located in the drive, available to both properties.
  • WATER:  water is metered so we would politely ask that you don’t leave taps running
  • ELECTRICITY: electricity is expensive in France and whilst we don’t expect anybody to act like a mole, would again ask that lights etc., aren’t left on unnecessarily
  • LIGHT BULBS: Spares are kept in the CAVE of the house and the cupboard over the fridge in the gite.
  • WASHING POWDER/DISHWASHER TABLETS:  we supply what we hope will be an adequate amount for your stay, however, if you should need to buy more, could you please get the ones suitable for a FOSSE SEPTIQUE
  • BOOKS/CD’S/DVD’s  there’s quite a range of all of these in both the house and gite.  They are ours, and our taste but we hope you will like them, use them and then leave them for our next visitors.
